COVID-19 swept the rug from underneath us all.

In the wedding industry it came at a time when we were just building up and getting ready to throw ourselves into wedding season.

It’s been quite a year and I wanted to note down and share the good things and the pretty damn amazing people I worked with this year.

This blog doesn’t mention the 6 of the incredibly beautiful and meaningful weddings I was lucky enough to photograph because to give them any justice we’d honestly be here all night.

January

Licked off the year with a 5 page editorial publication in Herts Life Magazine with What Alice Wore, Charlotte Jay Make-up, Trinder Hair Studio, Spoty Photo an Video, St Albans Museum and our wonderful model – Anna, Alexa, Rebecca and Gabriella

February

Okay technically this is something I started in 2019 but at the beginning of this year I finished business coaching with Julie Michaelsen.

She was so supportive and hiring her was definitely the best decision I had made at the time. Having her was like having a business guardian angel in my back pocket. I was genuinely sad when our time working together came to an end but she left me feeling way more prepared to take on the year.

March

A new logo designed with the incredibly patient Hello White Space.

My best friend and I were able to squeeze in a trip to the theatre in March too, the weekend before the first lockdown and saw Brendan Cole Show Man!

May

I launched a brand new website with B by Nicky.

Whilst creating the gorgeous website, she also helped me to better understand my brand and photography style.

July

This gorgeous couple trusted me to photograph their intimate wedding at Pembroke Lodge.

After nearly 5 months of not photographing couples, I was super nervous to get back into it but the wedding team at Pembroke made the day run like clock work.

August

I fought the fear of going live and attended one of  Guides for Brides live virtual wedding fairs on Facebook talking along side some other amazing  photographers, sharing my tips on how to choose the right photographer for your wedding.

Through the wonders of Instagram I met Debrah J Flowers and By Ave Creations, we decided to create and plan a styled shoot together which ended up being something so wonderful and fulfilling. It was also held in one of my favourite venues, Ashridge House, which was on my photography bucket list! I’ve now been there three times this year!

Cynthia Grafton Holt, Anthonys London, Ananya Cards, Jensen Films, Lamro Make Up, Iced Delights Cakes and Jessica Wilson Limited all helped bring the shoot to life.

September

What Alice Wore had their first birthday in April our original plan was to have an editorial shoot on their birthday but we managed to pull it off in September instead at St Villa with Dani Levi, Chloe Bloom Hair and our models, Sophia and Rebecca.

Another styled shoot this time Hunton Park, which has a feature coming out early next year so watch this space! This shoot was cancelled at the last minute (in April) but we all picked it up again after the lockdown without missing a beat!

Cerimonia Style, Jessica Wilson Limited, Sara Events Flowers, Tiggity Boo, Bomboniere by Maria, Jade Anna Hair and Make Up, Erzulie Cakes and models Gabriella and Tian

December

Being involved with this surprise proposal at The Grove on Boxing Day was just the most joyous way to end the year. I’m so grateful to have been involved and I was able to meet the wonderfully talented Iona, whole played so beautifully as Paul got down on one knee.

2020 has given me the opportunity to work in one of my dream venues with some truly amazing people. It also gave me the opportunity to photograph my first surprise proposal which was just so joyful to be a part of, what a way to end the year! 😍

All the twists and turns 2020 has thrown our way gave me the time to get to know my 2020 couples even better. Helping them postpone their weddings and navigate COVID-19 guidelines.

Spoiler alert my couples are even more awesome than I knew and they had the most incredible intimate weddings this year.

I can’t wait to see my postponed couples finally tie the knot in 2021 too! ❤️

How ever you got yourself through this year, well done, be proud of yourself. You did it!

See you in the new year!
