Tips on how to make the most out of wedding shows

Weddings fairs are amazing for gathering lots of wedding ideas and inspiration, but they can be rather overwhelming!

So you can make the most of them and enjoy it whilst you’re there, here are a few tips on what to consider before you go.

Do your research!

Consider what kind of wedding you are dreaming of.

Elegant manor house wedding?

Fairytale castle wedding? Rustic barn wedding?

Each wedding fair will offer a different variety of suppliers and will spark your planning in a different way.

Most venues will advertise their fairs online, through their social media and website or you can find fair through trusted organisers such as Guides for Brides.

Buy a ticket…

For larger national wedding fairs buy your tickets beforehand. The last thing you’ll want to do is queue to get into a wedding fair especially if you have to stand outside in the cold.

At some of the larger wedding fairs it’s difficult to get around all of the stands.

Have a look at the floor plan or list of exhibitors and prioritise who you really want to see.

Also, at larger fairs there may be masterclasses or catwalks. Think about which ones are most relevant to you and ensure that you are there at least 10 minutes before they start to guarantee that you and your wedding party get a seat!

Take a pen

All the suppliers will give you some of their literature, if its pricelists, business cards or something else they will most likely hand you something to take away with you. If you really loved their vibe doodle a little heart or smiley face in the corner. A little reminder for you when you get home of who were your favourites.

Decide on manageable goals to achieve at the fair for example find a photographer and decide on a style of wedding dress. This way you will be less likely to become distracted or overwhelmed.

Think about who will be joining you…

Too many people and too many opinions can end up confusing you and blurring your ideas of what you actually want.

Take your fiancé! This is a day that you share together, share the planning too! As a supplier it is also so lovely to meet you both at wedding fairs.

The people that go with you should be as excited as you are!

Have a glass of Bubbles!

You’ve bought your ticket, made a plan, prioritised, set a goal and you’re with your favourite people. Have a glass of bubbles and taste all the samples!
