The Tisch

The Tisch is a pre-wedding tradition that is meant to be loud and full of energy. Creating an energetic atmosphere to encourage the groom before the ceremony starts.

Sharing whiskey and singing Hebrew songs it is such a meaningful way to build the anticipation.

Whiskey and Food

The word ‘Tisch’ literally means ‘table’. The common theme of every Tisch I’ve photographed is that there’s a table in the middle of the room filled with snacks and drinks for the guests to enjoy.

At this particular Tisch the Brides brother shared a whiskey he had been given as a wedding gift himself.

At the end of the Tisch all the guests will leaving the room, walking backwards as they clap and cheer.

The groom will then leave the room, accompanied by his closest family and friends as he goes to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day.
